Children See Magic Because They Look For It
South Hills Nurseries
Wilton
‘As a child, one has that magical capacity to move among the many eras of the earth; to see the land as an animal does, to experience the sky from the perspective of a flower or a bee, to feel the earth quiver and breath beneath us and to know a hundred smells of mud.’

First opened in 1993, Wilton is our flagship nursery. Children experience a rich and varied curriculum whilst engaging in outdoor forest and farm activities. These range from forest sessions in the nearby woods to feeding and caring for our many animals, including donkeys, alpacas, and sheep.
Our children and staff make the most of being surrounded by beautiful countryside. Furthermore, staff provide the firm foundations for each child to explore and grow from 3 months to 5 years. We also run a highly successful after school club for children attending local Primary Schools.
Bemerton
‘There are hundreds of languages in the world, but a smile speaks them all.’
Linked to a local children’s centre, our Bemerton nursery opened its doors in 2010. Providing stimulating and exciting environments, we make sure children’s interests are at the heart of all the activities.
Children have a strong sense of belonging through the relationships with staff and learn to become confident and independent. The staff work closely with outside professionals to ensure that each child reaches their full potential from 24 months to 5 years. We are open 38 weeks of the year.

Based in the heart of the city centre, our nursery opened in 2014 and is ideally located for families living and working in Salisbury. Split into 4 age groups, (ranging from 3 months to 5 years old) the children are empowered to learn and explore in age-appropriately resourced rooms, where caring and nurturing staff support all aspects of their development.
The children have access to a well-designed outside area and use every opportunity to venture out into local parks and the Cathedral grounds to extend on their knowledge of the world in which they live.
St. Peter’s
‘‘Every child is a different kind of flower and, altogether, make this world a beautiful garden.’
Integral to St Peter’s Primary School, our purpose-built nursery opened in September 2018. Caring for children aged between 2-5 years, South Hills St Peter’s is open 51 weeks from 7:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. The children have a wealth of space inside and out to support all aspects of the curriculum and interests.
Staff engage creatively and use their knowledge of each individual to provide them with the best possible start to their education. We are fortunate to have access to the forest area within the school grounds and this provides our children with opportunities to take risks through well-planned activities lead by a fully qualified forest leader.

Situated within the grounds of Wilton CE Primary School, our nursery caters for children aged between 2 and 5 years old. Opening in 2012, the children engage in a wide variety of experiences covering all areas of the curriculum, which motivates the children to eagerly learn through play and exploration.
Enjoying a good balance of self-chosen and adult-led activities, the learning is strengthened further by the introduction of Montessori equipment presented by a trained practitioner which embeds the well-planned environment. Children have ample opportunities to spend time outdoors, either using the school grounds or visiting the local forest area.

Froxfield
‘Children need to feel, wonder and gaze in awe at the world.’
Stepping Stones came under the South Hills umbrella in 2019. Taking pupils aged between 3 months and 5 years old, we offer a wonderful space for children to spread their wings and enjoy lots of outdoor activities due to having endless green space and their own forest area.
The rooms are divided into 4 age groups, enabling the children to have fun while developing independent learning skills with the assistance of knowledgeable and supportive staff.
Corsham
‘Play is our brains favourite way of learning.’
Corsham was our first nursery in the North of the County to join our South Hills family and came on board in 2015. Catering for our youngest children from 3 months to 5 years old, the nursery provides a bright and stimulating environment, where children are encouraged to use their imaginations and follow their curiosity.
The outdoor learning takes place whatever the weather or changing season, as the staff recognise the positive value for children learning the hundred different smells of mud.
Trinity
‘When children feel safe, they can take risks, ask questions, make mistakes, learn to trust, share their feelings, and grow.'
Trinity joined our north hub family in 2021. Caring for children aged between 2 and 5 years, the children benefit from the space being shared with all of these age groups in one room. This enables all children to learn from their peers, help and guide the younger age group and build friendships that will span past their early years.
With experienced staff at the heart of the learning process, they nurture and extend each individual child’s talents and interests to ensure every day is filled with awe and wonder. Being situation within the Trinity Academy, this promotes smooth transitions into Reception and working in partnership to ensure the best outcomes for the children and their families.
